Good talk, excellent plan. It needs a planner or schedual to write down on. I suggest a mini day schedual. It works magic with time management.

Thank you Eban. This was powerful 'take action and be empowered stuff'. The proof that you convinced me this is the perfect combination of 'essential & quick win' is that I have committed to have planned and put into action your recommendations in the next 24 hours.

I suggest everyone watching this video, to STOP pull out your notebook and TAKE NOTES!
Implement IMMEDIATELY.

Good video Eben. I thought I remembered seeing something like this from you during the guru mastermind launch, or maybe I found it on one of your other blogs. Either way, it's good stuff.
I just watched your segment from Frank Kern's Mass Control and you changed my life lol. I really loved what you talked about and I put it to work the very next morning and saw instant improvement.
I will continue to try it, and I am hoping I'll be able to get in on this next training.

A nice clear message on what all business owners need to do to succeed. For me, the most important points are to eliminate distractions & interruptions and then to focus.
In the Mass Control presentation you advocate using a kitchen timer. I am finding that to be incredibly useful!

Wow!
Talk about the Akashic Records!
I just viewed this video this weekend from the Guru Mastermind blog-
It is excellent- and I agree with Kris- take notes and implement-
I have always had the allocated discipline for phone time, email time etc. It is those neverending tasks that seem to go on and on and not amount to completion - or what I have labeled "the fine finish"
No deadlines- Finishlines!

Synchronicity is real. I've been running my own one man business for a few years now and just about doing OK. BUT I've always known that I wasn't even close to maximising its' or my potential - I think I know what to do but I'm not doing it. A couple of days ago I firmly decided to GET ORGANISED. But How - and then this arrives in my inbox. Brilliant - simple in concept, succinct and powerful and I know it's going to work - I look forwad to your next offering -

Excellent concepts, format and presentation! You kept my attention through your entire presentation ... I didn't even get distracted when my email alert went off!! (Thanks to the blog for suggesting to take notes. I have 6 little pages of fabulous information that I'll pass on to my agents.) If you're ever in Michigan, you may want to consider speaking to the Realtor groups. We all could use this rejuvenation and restructuring. Thank you!!

Well, for a free video it was a bit of an eye opener.
I have read and have seen videos in the past on time management. Started to practise time management but that positive word took over, procrastination.
Your presentation is simple and straight forward and I will use it to change my life into a more positive and organized way.
I particularly liked that stair case idea, being that I live in a apartment with exercise facilities.
Being a newbie to the Internet commerce, looking for products or services to promote and sell, where in the Pillar Structuring would you suggest I place these efforts?
Again great work. I look forward to more of your workings.

Eban, This is a fantastic video. I agree with many of your points regarding multitasking, however in todays workforce, people are bombarded with multitasking. Taking your concepts and implementing them into each of the multitasking duties in a "Focused Time" effort will assist people achieving their expected goals and keep their employers off their backs.

You are Correct!
What I have noticed a lot online is that people are taking
MASSIVE "MINDLESS" ACTION
without any Mindset behind their Marketing.
They are basically wasting their time, because they have
no real content.
Patience and Laser Targeted Focus is a Virtue.

Love your videos. Seems to be the Hot Topic lately. "Time"
I did a speaking engagement at a very small conference years ago and the topic of Time=Money came up.
I remember the audience response when I said "That is the most UN-true statement I ever heard, and I can prove it in 2 seconds."
"You can always get money back."
So run around and look at it from another angle. The time ( which you can never get back) MUST be spent wisely to not only acquire your wealth but to enjoy it as well.
Thanks Again Eben

This came to me at a very crucial and timely point in my life. I have just started to apply a work-at-home job of which I had just finished the training on. Thanks Eben. This it really timely and useful to me.
I have already started implementing some of what you suggest but his crystallizes things that much more.
I'm wondering, do you have kids?
The reason I ask is that a lot of the friction and distraction that I deal with comes from working at home around my wife's schedule and having an office that is right next to one of the areas my kids play.
I'm truly blessed to have this problem but, would love advice on how to deal with the family element when it comes to distraction and interruption.

The key things I picked up that I think are MAJOR epiphanies are: 1) CREATING A ROUTINE; 2) The first 2 hours before I get to work - to make myself healthy and strong - is key and 3) STOP CHECKING EMAILS ALL DAY!!! Thanks so much for your generosity in sharing of your wisdom...May you be blessed 100 fold!!!

Great training. An absolute must see. I am emailing this to my associates and friends. Great value. In fact the best 30 minutes that I think I have spent this week. Great job.

Fantastic video, Eben! Now the key is to IMPLEMENT. How do you break out of the old patterns and fit yourself into the new patterns? While watching your video I was interrupted 5 times. Sometimes it's so hard to say NO. How do you break that inclination? ...saying yes to everything because it might be something important. Thanks for the GREAT advice!

Good info. Just having a bit of trouble managing the time and numbers: If 4:53 was 25% of the tape, how did it run 34:24? And does your firm have 100 employees, or 80?

In getting started with an on-line business the past year or so, I've come to realize that time is invaluable. It's the one thing that simply cannot be replaced. It can take a lot of time just to learn about anything new, then to take action on it. Excellent point in the video about asking a 'time' question before starting a new project. That has now become a major consideration for me before I start something, or even get involved with a training course.

Great session of coaching that we have here! Thank you Eben for the structure and the clarity of your speech that makes it completly understandable (natably for a french guy like me).You are dealing here with some facts that we subconsciously know but of which we need to be reminded because we tend to forget them when we're overwhelmed with work, excitement and so on...so, just a big THANK YOU for this "reminder".

I have to confess that i would have a very active mind but through out that video i was so focused on your every word and you know what eben,i felt the best i felt all week.
It was like time stood still and there was,nt a worry in the world.

Any ideas on how and where we can find a motovated sales expert to manage our marketing to sales needs?

Hi Eban, great video I almost deleted it but for some reason I said I need a break and clicked on your video. I was just telling one of my downline associates that if you don't focus and use your day with some planing it's going to be hard to get to the end of your task or mission. And then you will have a hard time getting what you want. I will pass this video to my group. Thanks Mike D as well for sending the email. I really like what you said about what to do with the 1st hour of your day!
Posted by: Dan Newsham | 2:20 PM
Wow Eben, fantastic information!! I was already aware of some of the information, however, it was great to hear it in such a concise way. I really think some of the most valuable info I received was about the first hour of the day. I couldn't agree more! Personally, after I started incorporating a "power shake" first thing in the morning, and increasing my intake of water, I noticed an incredible difference in how I felt throughout the day. Once again, excellent advise. I look forward to hearing more from you in the future. Carpe diem!!

Eban you have got to read this.
It is 24 hours from when I watched your video. I have implemented what you have said. My first hour this morning was amazing I. I woke up and smiled, reminding myself of all the wonderful things I have to be grateful for, I went for a run, did some free weight exercises, meditated on my next best thing, wrote a plan for the day, prepared a healthy breakfast and gave everyone in my family a big hug telling them how much I loved them. Having the intention to do that - made it so easy, I have never done a plan so quick. I have never done so many things in an hour - it is sort of like a triathlon. This will massively improve my performance and quality of life. Wow. It was so easy
I got so much work done yesterday as I was mindfull of distractions and kept putting first things worth - any temptation that was not a priority I put on a list as an incentive to use on a break or to work faster to enjoy as a celebration.
This has been awesome. Today I am going to get even better - and improve my focus. I am now thinking about what other routines to build - so that I can build even more hours into the day like the first hour of today which has been the sort of performance I want out of my life. THis is easy I will make this part of my new lifestyle.
Thank you Eban, you have shown me in such a simple way how to improve my quality of life with the greatest of ease.

Hi Eben,
This was a great video as usual,
and really gave a structure to
the day that is simple and effective.
Especially the "hour of power" in
the morning is key. Well begun
is half done for sure.
The trick for most people will be
to implement this for long enough
to have it become a habit for
them.
30 days is good - and then once
it becomes a habit, things really
do get put on automatic pilot.
So in your next videos, I would
recommend reminding everyone
of these points briefly so that
they will have a firm basis to
implement whatever new
strategies you'll be coming out
with.
Thanks again for making this
and for sharing it with us all.
Great stuff!

I am grateful for the reminder and reinforcing the observations I have made over the years and even recently I have been thinking the same things.
Starting to implement them and then being able to regain focus even when faced with family crisis this week has given me the encouragement to stay the course.
Of course I have to say using my own services like I ask my clients to do (EFT-Emotional Freedom Technique) has been in the forefront of tools to release my own limiting beliefs so that I can operate my business from more of a conscious point.

THAT to me is the key...if it's easy to SEE what you need to do, it's easier to actually make the changes. I believe what you said...that getting yourself right is most of the battle--I know that is true for me. Thank you for bringing this to light again! Great video and advices. It's true we are now too updated with so many destroyed "great" things: cable, Internet, email, massenger, skype connections, cell phones and any services included in like... "dreams come true" etc. We don't know many times what to do; we are stress out, confusse. We need to learn the old fashion style to calm down; reaspect our time, family, someone we love. That is very crucial and important. Thank you.

Excellent Video! I am so guilty of the email thing. In fact my hand went to my mouse to check it twice while watching this video, but I resisted. It's just plain habit...I don't even realize I do it sometimes. Thanks for bringing it into focus.
Posted by: Stacy | 9:09 PM
All great! First things first for me. I have pretty much skipped the first hour entirely and just scramble to get at it. I can see how that first hour will raise my whole day. That's my main focus for now. I'll attack the rest when I get #1 under control.

Wow. I don't think I've ever spent a more productive half hour than I just did watching this video Eben. It gave me EXACTLY the answers I've been looking for. The universe really came through for me this time when I asked why I wasn't getting anything done. :-)
BTW.. did you used to live in Sedona? I moved to CO from there a year ago and after mentioning you to a friend of mine who lives there he told me that you were a former resident.
At any rate.. THANK YOU!

Eban,
Thanks a lot. For me, this is excellent. Although I've seen only 40% of the video, what I've seen hits the nail on the head. I'm in a situation where I have to be multi-tasked, as I have a home to run, a busy busy husband to help, and travelling on top of it. In the last couple of months, I,ve made efforts to work smarter and simplyfy our life style -in relation to cooking, clothes and other house keeping chores.I've stopped watching tv,and also stopped going out.I had joined 3 list sites and immediately, I was getting literally 100's of emails a day, and it took me hours to go through them. I woke up to the fact that these lists were not helping me at all. Finally I cancelled them altogether, and what a relief. I still find myself spending too much time opening emails with the thought that if I don't I might miss something good. Well, I'm so glad I opened Mike's who sent your video.
I'm up to the 4 strategies for effective people, and I'm going to try them all, and see the 60% of the video I haven't seen.
Many thanks again.

Eben,
Just introduced to you and your site.
Bravo! You provided some of the most salient insights I've heard yet on a most important topic.
Chet Holmes and Jay Abraham devoted about 38 minutes to time management in their seminal PEQ and PEQ II programs. Excellent material; however, it could have benefited from many of your insights.
What I particularly liked about your presentation was: (1) the need to give your day a powerful start by being the best you can be: strong, emotionally charged, well fueled -- physically and mentally -- with an excellent meal and food for thought, (2) the four things that sap our creative abilities, (3) the way you broke down the necessity of focusing on the pillars of an internet (or any) business (for that matter), (4) the four things we must do (a) clean focus, (b) pulse, (c) routines, and (d) renewal.
Just plain excellent. Thank you for the gift.
If I may share a couple of recommendations Chet Holmes made, they might help you and your readers.
Touch things once. Either toss (ask yourself if it will hurt you to throw it away), delegate, deal with it now or file it. Have a file for everything you don’t delegate or toss that must be handled later.
It is human nature to do the easiest things first. Instead, prioritize your “to-do” list each day. Choose the six most important tasks for that day, and focus on them. Plan how much time you are going to give each task that day. Remember to re-prioritize each day because priorities will change. You will quickly become much more productive.
Don’t allow your employees (or subordinates) to interrupt you throughout the day with “. . .you gotta minute?” Create policies, plans and procedures for handling interruptions; schedule time – maybe once in the morning, once in the afternoon where you have 30 minutes set aside for this. Better yet, can it wait for the next department, team, work group or division meeting? Control your time and don’t let your staff have you do their work for them.
Build some time into your schedule for miscellaneous issues, like unexpected client calls (always a priority). Maybe 30 minutes in your 10 hour day.
Look forward to more of your offerings,
Joe Emmet

Really enjoyed the show Eben!
This past week I was in process of making changes to get free of distractions, interruptions, and friction.
Your video was delivered at just the right time, confirming that my changes were necessary.
I picked up some additional "key concepts" in the video such as getting detached from biz in times of relaxation.
The 2 hour "clean focus" piece is huge for me!

Hi Eben... very motivating video... thank you so much!
I resonated with the distractions aspect of your presentation... and also the friction. Fiction is probably one of the most understated distractions around. When your mind is on things that have happened in your personal life there is no way you can focus properly on what you are doing. It has a similar effect to multitasking... it just doesn't work efficiently!

Eben, I met you at Alex's event a couple of years ago in SF. I was impressed then and really appreciate what you have given us here. I find that Mondays are my best day because of a weekend at church and other things. I work for 15+ hours on Mondays and get tons done. Tuesdays are OK but by Wednesday I am starting to lose focus and drive. By Thursday I am dead. I need to quit sprinting on Monday and spread it out more. Your advice on the rhythms was really helpful to me personally. I look forward to the next video.

And when I took the journey to make change you were one of my mentors at that time.

Great! I am forwarding this to my manager right now! I will never multi-task again. I would love to know how to do this in an enviornment where you have to answer the telephone in order to book clients appointments. What do you think about working owners? What if the customers are the distraction when you are working on marketing etc?
Posted by: Miranda | 12:31 AM
The video is well presented and inspirational. We often use the excuse "we don't have enough time" However if we lessen the impact of time sink-holes such as TV, telephone and simply looking for things we can't find, we will have more time. And exercise is so important. I will be implementing the moring routine. Great way to start the day.

The ability to focus has been/is my my biggest challenge while learning to set up a business online.
I think the most beneficial idea from this video, however, is the managing yourself first idea and the morning routine. This is because the biggest challenge in my life at the moment is my health. Not that I have any major problems healthwise, but if I don't change my lifestyle I will have.
I think the morning routine will be my saviour in business and life.It will not be easy though!!!

Just wish my computer could turn up the volume more and load it better.
This is the first video I have ever seen on time management.....It's very informational.
Reading the book "Power of Concentration" talks about how important it is to be able to focus and concentrate on one thing at a time until its done. My only problem is I tend to get bored after a while which at times can make me scattered.
What doe's one do, to keep from being bored doing only one thing at a time until its done? lol

I kind of wish I had this info a couple of months ago. I run 2 giveaway sites as well as a number of my own niche sites, including a few Internet Marketing related sites.
My worst problem is that I have a number of people that have added me to Skype. It's a great tool, but it gets abused easily and the distractions can be horrendous.
Because I JV with a few of these marketers, I need to stay online while on Skype. But as soon as I do, everyone wants to talk to me.
This info will help me keep it under control.
I also found this good to keep my projects in check as I usually have about 4 or 5 projects going on at the same time.

One needs quite a substantial income or business to implement most he writes about,
Whereas your concise, easy to implement strategies are common sense and doable.
I agree, as I just did, to take notes and implement these very simple yet essential Rules - Dsciplines - Routines - Pillars into one's Life.

Hi, I just saw your video and loved it. Came to it through a link on one of Mike Dillard's emails.
Great info!
Murphy's Law erupted almost as soon as I hit "Play"! I had to get a better chair. I still wasn't comfortable, and since I'm acquiring "computer-butt"! (lol!) I decided to march in place for a few minutes. Something even interrupted that. CNBC was on, and I had to see how the Markets are doing, and THAT was an interruption! (Turned it off fairly quickly!) I decided to do a hand-craft while I watched your video. (do a few stitches, write down notes, repeat!) My husband came home, we visited, I asked him to find earphones for me, so I could listen while not bothering him. To install the earphones we had to rearrange the desk! Once finally settled back in, he got a call on his phone for me!
A dear friend GAVE me a $200 diet and excercise program a few weeks ago, something she'd ordered and never used. I've been trying to follow menus, and "read up" on the excercises, ("doing" them is yet to come!lol!), and listen to that company's CD's & watch their DVD's. Plus, I have joined SEVERAL internet marketing companies in the last few weeks, (including Mike Dillard's), and all their instruction materials have arrived at the same time. Each time I begin reading, a new interruption occurs, so progress (and those ultimate riches!) is slow! I'm also smack dab in the middle of somewhat time-sensitive and time consuming activities entirely different from this new business, and they need doing, too!
Obviously, it's a VERY busy time for me now.
Anyway, I was saying to myself just today that I'm going to HAVE to start getting up earlier to get more done, and one of the first emails I saw today was Mike Dillard's and his link to you.
Thank you for all the hints and reminders. Not that I'm looking forward to a 50 hour week, but you certainly outlined a live-able plan to accomplish a lot of things. I LOVED what you said about carving out uninterrupted 2 hour segments. Wouldn't THAT be loverly?!
Thanks so much for YOUR time and info,
VERY New to all of this, and I don't even have an official business name yet ....

Eben,
I find that the tip you gave about email actually creates so much less distraction that I can quadruple my effectiveness. Sometimes when you are in the middle of the day you can hardly wait until an email comes to distract you from what you are doing. Which leads to the great tip about pulsing...that is...relaxing during that time where you begin to feel tired during the work day. Great tips and advice.

I have taken notes and will take what you said to heart.

introductory time management principles???
How about calling it - all you need to know
it's common sense that is not followed by most.
Great Video Eban!
It's easy to get caught up with busy work and time wasters
and forget what's important
Even for those of us who hate (or more like, misunderstand) the concept of ROUTINES
it's a key to getting the results we want in life and our business.
I can vouch for multitasking
making you stupid
I need to stop spreading my hour of power
out over the first 3 hours of the day, lol.
I've already cut way back on
Multitasking and I've implemented
the 2 hour block of
Clean Focusing
take notes people - this stuff works!

Eben,
I get focused and forget about time. Two hours can pass and I don't even know that it has.
My 'down' time is spent doing some kind of training on my Wii Sports. Seriously. It takes amazing focus.
My therapist has tested my ability to focus and has found that it has incredibly increased. I've lived most of my life with A.D.D.
I think self confidence in knowing your targeted goal is very important. My self talk is important. I've learned to develop that with affirmations.

Thanks for pulling back and reminding me to create a clean focus, relax, focus rhythm. And my email is a real culprit - you're right! It's off! Thank you so much.

Eben,
Fantastic video! You did an excellent job of informing, educating and then providing a simple action plan to get entrepreneurs onto their personal path to success. I took 2-1/2 pages of succinct notes (just the points)!
For me, the greatest value was how you compartmentalized a day of work. It's the most succinct and strategic way of presenting a typical workday that I have ever seen explained.
As a person who is passionate about the customer experience (one of my many corporate experiences), it was refreshing that you refer to pillar #1 as the "customer" pillar (for others the "client" pillar) rather than using revenue-generating activities. It places the focus on the right concept.
Looking forward to more to come. In the meantime, you've given plenty to work with.

I wish I had listened to this about 2 years ago. I may then still have the job I just lost after 38 years. I had lost my focus and had a lot of distractions and interuptions in my job. 6 weeks ago they eliminated my position in an attempt to downsize. I always felt that I was their most Loyal and Dedicated employee but had lost my willingness to always go over and above my required duties. My focus was more on the distractions. One thing that I discovered was the true meaning of Lean Management, is out with the old and in with the new, even if they know nothing about what their doing. I will use your advice on my next job. Thank You, BILL

The video was worth my time. To see someone talking about time management and relating exactly to the content of actual daily life's routines for yourselves was excellent. The idea of Focus for 2 hours with no interruptions has been for me my email, yep, wrong focus.
great job Eben , I would watch another one of your videos. thank you Cliff

As a newbie, this is good practicle advise. I kind of practice this in my own job. I tune out the chatterbox who sits beside me at work and focus entirely on my own work to get it done while she just chatters away oblivious to the fact that I am not listening to a word she says.
Any way, thanks for the good advise, i'll put it to good use.

Eben,
Just getting through this video without getting distracted was a major challenge. I appreciate this video message because I am in the process of rebuilding my team after a tragedy my family experienced last November. It’s taken me almost a year to mentally and physically get into some type of routine. My brother shared this video with me and now we are both going to help each other develop morning routines and be each other’s accountability partner to practice a couple hours of no distractions to work on activities that will help build our business. May you continue to awaken others that are in need of a reminder. Shirley

It is really fantastic what I have heard in your video. It seems like I had my personall consultant discussing with me for 20 minutes. This was right but your ideas will help us to find the way to reduce the waste. I will be very pleased to keep a good relation with you for mutual benefit.
Best regards and thanks for your assistance. We are looking forward hearing from you again...

I'm not sure if I am just now realizing that time management is key to success and there have been videos and training staring me in the eye all the time, or they have been there all along and I have just been overlooking the importance of them. Managing your time and not getting distracted, or allowing a certain quota of time for distraction out of your work day is definately key to progress.

Sage advice Eban, nicely presented. Thanks for the reminders on several points. Thought you'd like to know a little more about one particularly productive thinkers' approach to focus.
Albert Einstein was almost undisruptable. He first wife said, "The babies can not cry
loud enough to distract Albert from his thoughts." Psychologists might say Albert
was a naturally "high" screener, able to screen out any/every non-essential interruption.
It's a rare characteristic, especially today.
If any of your readers find themselves in the "low" screener camp, extra attention must be given to your environment to minimize potential distractions.
I'll end this post with one of my favorite quotes from Einstein, very relevant to your tips on time management, "Everything should be made as simple as possible and no simpler."
Posted by: Arden Bercovitz - The Einstein Guy | 12:39 AM
Time. It is such an easy commodity to waste without even realising it. The irony is that it is easily our most precious asset and very few of us consider it so. This is because its free to us, we all
get 24 Hrs a day. The trouble is nobody knows how many more of those priceless 24Hr blocks we have left. So infoermation like this to help maximise your usage of time should be regarded with very high value. Particularly the stuff Eben has told us about here and coming from somebody so successful at it. Thanks Eben, these issues are the core reason that a lot of people are just treading water instead of flying.
Posted by: George Weller | 3:24 AM
Awesome stuff, pure gold, even if I didn't really want to hear it, I just couldn't look away. You covered all most of my weak points. I like the Ist hour as I usually make excuses and then don't get the exercise or meditation done, even if it is on the WTDL (what to do list) I will try to do what you suggest for at least 40 days so it becomes a habit. I know it is suppose to be 30 but I allow 10 days for mistakes.

accomplish all that I desire to be?" I loved the idea of caring for myself in the morning ritual even getting up an hour earlier to do so. Will do.

Tremendously helpful information. I especially agree with the concept of devoting the first hour of the day to maintain your own health, so as to make it easier to maintain your business health and contacts with your customers. Priceless concept!

Eben,
This powerful information is going to change many lives, including my own, and I thank you so much for sharing these extremely simple but effective techniques and ideas.
I actually do begin my days with exercise, although nowhere near as strenuous as yours. I didn't think about replenishing the lost H2O right off the bat, though, and yet it makes perfect sense.
Your business tips are going to require a lot of self-discipline to implement (old habits are hard to break) but they are absolutely going to make a difference in how my days are managed.
I've been wanting something do-able to help me stop the really ineffective ways I've been letting distractions, interruptions and friction run my workdays. Your tips will make a monumental D.I.F.ference in how I look at work from now on.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart... I needed a plan and yours isn't daunting like most of the time management ebooks I've read in the past.
Blessings,
Donna

You hit it right on the head! Actually while I was working or thought I was working, I became distracted by your email directing me to this page. Well this is the one time I am glad I did get distracted. I can't wait to learn more.

This is one of THE most informative FREE videos ever! I really like the way you refer to well-known people who have written well-known books, so that we may reference them ourselves. I will definately watch this video several times and I will recommend it to others.

Thanks for the great video. I have always thought that personal health was an important factor in business success, and its interesting to hear others say the same. Thanks again for the great info, and I look forward to more.

Nailed! You pressed all my buttons. I'm the queen of distraction, and because of it, all tasks take longer. I am following your advice starting now. Thank you.

Eben just described both types of days I have. When I take time to exercise and setup my day, I have a very productive day and feel really good. When I allow myself to just "wing it" my day is pretty crappy and starts a downward spiral that takes days to get out of. Looking forward to more focused advice in the future.

Thank you.

Thank you, Eban for the reminders, tips and simple sequence. Things I've known and practiced in the past that have seemingly been lost in the (perceived)production increase of business growth. Funny how that happens!
Thank you for the inspiration to start my day right and to go forward with uninterrupted focus.
This plan showed up "right on time"!

We do in fact exist in the frames of time. What we manage are the prep staging to delivery and ensuring that we deliver. Your productivity video creates a simple way to know what to do in the frame work of time. Thanks so much helping others build their habit of success!

Thank you for sharing this vital information with us Eben. You successfully created a "wake-up" call for me, reminding me of what I know I should be doing upon rising, but sadly, have not. I plan on doing the exercises you have suggested with the intent of regaining some control of myself. Women become quite adept at multi-tasking, but I find myself buried beneath a pile of projects without completing any of them. I look forward to your forthcoming videos. Thank you again!

Thanks for the advice. I am new to this internet home business program and I was being distracted by emails, promotions etc and becoming overwhelmed. I was very naive when I started and have run into a few problems, such as writing articles, blogs, adding links. For a person that knows very little about link machines and how to add links, this is a nervous time. After watching your video,I need to refocus on exactly where I am heading and not be distracted from my main goal.

Eben,
Great video..........
I am an old dinosaur
An Senior operating enginer.
One of the last of my kind.
I used a program called Havard total project managment (h.t.p.m.).
I did not matter if you were baking cookies or planning a 6,000 home subdivision.
Literaly every thing could be placed on a linear road map and tied to the project. It allowed for total focus on the task at hand.
task focus and the ability to see where that task fit into the over all project was/is the only way to achieve one's goals.
Utilizing what we called time floats. Looking into the past(reverse floats) to project into the futhur (forward floats) from the present time.
Additionaly it allowed for adding in paralel tasks and where they tied into the over all project goal.
When I watched your video I was amazed to a good portion of it dealing with personal time management.
We,myself and those similarly tasked, used basicly the same focus to task at hand and that wonderfull break for renawl. Mine generally under the shade of old oak tree.

Thanks Eben, My favorite takeaways from your video were "clean focus" and creating a morning routine with water, exercise, meditation and nutritious food. You have me re-thinking some things...

You are right about everything. I've been teaching my readers for a long time that taking control of your personal life is essential - eating right, exercise, recreation, organization - and even routines. Without that, you're living in constant chaos and never achieving anything.
One of the best things you can do is turn off the cell phone! Sheesh - enough already with the constant contact! We thought TV was bad enough...
You've gotta take back control of your life.
Kudos Eben. We need more people spreading the message. I hope all of these commenters are really taking it to heart.

found out that I was totally wrong about what I was doing & am going to change my whole routine & do what " Eben " talked about.
I agree with Eben, I'm not to manage my time but rather manage myself. Yes, Success does equal Persistence. &
Eben said it right, multitasking, friction, physical, emotional & psycological. Let it all go as one can never get anything accomplished as long as any ( 1 )one of them are in your mind. One must be clear headed if one wants to think & put their thoughts into a readable & understanding program. This & more should help me go a long way.
Thanks:Shawn

I feel you have created a valuable and informative video here, that really gels with my ideas as a Zen practitioner. I have practised zazen every day first thing for the last 30+ years and can vouch that what you are saying is so true. I have naturally come to the conclusion to drink water before zazen, slowly eat a good breakfast followed by a brisk walk before work is of benefit. At first "I-consciousness" is needed in the discipline, then as is said in Zen, self and other (activity) disappears.. :-) Derek

Thank you, very valuable comments, knowing that I am also a disciple of Drucker and Covey.
What I have especially noticed is the simple quality method’s structure, it is very easy to implement and practice, however I think that when it comes to managing people in getting tasks done and in the same inspiring your close knowledge workers to find there direction it requires more focus on interpersonal communication skills and techniques.

Hi Eben, interesting video! Everything you said is right, but about the friction it is not always easy to control yourself. you can't be calm and relax when you need to handle big money issue or big and heavy emotional problem sitting in your head. but the more deep you are in your working you can overcome that problem.
